I'd like to hear any input I can get on where I should go tomorrow. My son and I are going out to Tawakoni, and we plan on getting some shad and putting out a few jugs and then park somewhere and fish for blues/channels.
Anyone care to share some tips on where we would do well? Also, where is a good place to find some shad when the sun is rising? We plan to hit it about 6:00 or so tomorrow.
Thanks everyone!

It looks like I will be too late to post this help. I went on Saturday morning, put in at the Boyes home ramp (not sure what the real name is, but this is what I always heard it called). We had no problem finding shad. Just about every shoreline held a ton of shad. We did find trouble finding the fish. We talk to some fisherman, and no one sounded like they did great. The water is really muddy at that end of the lake. If I had to do it again, I would head towards the main body of the lake and fish the trees or maybe drift a shad around the main points. How did you do?

Thanks for the post Creed. No worries. We ended up going to Ray Hubbard anyways, as Tawakoni was just too far to drive when I didn't know really where to go or how it was going to work out. It's about an hour and ten minutes from my house, and Hubbard is only 45 minutes.
We hit RH at about 6:45am. Caught a handful of shad near the boat ramp at RP. We chased sand bass for a bit, and put six jugs out just North of the Eastern I30 bridge. Fished sandies some more, then checked the jugs. One jug was tripped (I use Jugs By Bert type) and was red, but the bait was stolen and the line was seriously slimed. Another jug was hit, and had all 70 feet of the line pulled out. That one yielded a 15 lb Blue. Picked up a small channel on a slab out in the main lake, and one sand bass and called it a day. I should have catfished all day with rod and reel... sandies/hybrids were a bust and a waste of time today. Looked like the other boats I saw were doing about the same.
Thanks again, and good luck to you!
