I am just wondering if the quicksilver premium plus will work on an Optimax engine or is it recommended to use the Mercury optimax/dfi only? Also will it void the warranty on a newer motor? Thanks for the help.

It is recommended to use the Optimax oil in all of the Optimaxs that are not Pro XS or XS series. Use Prem+ only imn emergencies. It will not void the warranty.

Thanks Tommy. I found in the owners manual where it has to use Mercury Optimax/DFI or Quicksilver DFI. But says you can use the Mercury or Quicksilver premium plus if the above oils are not available. I appreciate the assist.

The Prem + was made for the larger EFI engines. The Opti oil is brown and stinky.

I know several guys that are running Premium Plus in their Pro XS motors. They say it actually runs better with that oil compared to the DFI oil. Not sure why, but they've all said it.
