I wouldn't risk it I would get a reprint of it. I think it is a small charge for doing that.

As far as I know, they'll write you a ticket. I think most places will dismiss the ticket if you show that you had a license at the time, just not on your person.

How does one not know where his/her fishing license is? It should be in your wallet!!!!!! I have never understood how someone could loose something like a fishing license. Then again I have never understood how someone could loose their wallet either..... I'm not a real organized person but I do know where my wallet and keys are all the time. Go buy a new one. walmart is open 24 hrs. You can get a three day one for like 10 bucks. Well worth the piece of mind.

No, he will get a ticket. The law clearly states that your license must be on your person when fishing/hunting.

If a person has already been issued a license, can he buy another lawfully?
Seems he would need a "replacement licence".
And yeah, a person should always know where their license is.

I have an opinion on paper licenses ... but it is just that ... an opinion. I work for a big computer vendor that has been around for ever. I visit with customers all the time and talk about their usage of technology now and into the future and ... this is where it gets relevant ... the consumers expectation of information at this current time.
Look at the airline industry ... I don't think anyone expects to get "paper tickets" any more for traveling. I remember a long time ago that if you lost your ticket for the flight, you were in big trouble ... now when I arrive at the airport I simply show "a valid form of ID" and they know whether or not I have a seat reservation.
When I buy a "license" I am basically buying the entitlement to perform some activity that is associated with "me". It isn't transferable ... it is associated ... simply ... with "me".
I have never yet been stopped and asked to show my fishing license but I'm going to "bet" that when I show it, I also have to present ID that the license is associated with "me" .... the fisherman.
Anyway ... where I am going with this is that when I buy a fishing license, I need to present my drivers license ... so now there is an association between my DL# and my license to fish ... so if I am stopped by authorized staff on the lake ... presentation of my DL should be sufficient for them to know (or not know) whether or not I am allowed to fish. The technology to determine whether or not a DL# has an associated fishing license ... that is low tech. Requiring someone to physically carry a piece of paper with them should no longer be an accepted practice or requirement amongst we (consumers/beneficiaries).

If you cannot find your license go to Wal-Mart and tell them you need a replacement license. They will ask you a few questions to ensure the license is gone and not coming back and then charge you $10 for a replacement. I had to do this last year when I lost my wallet. Took no more then 10 minutes and $10.00.

I thought they could already do this!
