I have a Honda 50hp 4-stroke and it is running rough and missing, but then I can push the reset on the controls and it starts running good for awhile. Whats going on?

Reset button? Do you mean you are pushing the choke? If you have to choke the engine in order for it to run properly, then you have a fuel restriction issue some where.

I know on the inboards, there is an actual 'reset' button where the wires from the ignition and all the controls attach to the engine block...I assume there is one on outboards as well, but can't say for certain...
How long does it run properly before acting up?
