This would have been in 1959, near Charlotte, North Carolina. It was about 3 days after a torrential downpour that flooded Long Creek. Long Creek was a meandering stream of about 20 miles or so that entered the Catawaba River just below the bridge before you get to Mount Holly. Mount Holly is very near Belmont and Gastonia.

Anyway, my uncle Odell took me along on a seining trip to a flooded area of Long creek, a low depression about 200 yards long, 70 feet wide and 4 foot deep on average. This depression runs parallel to Long Creek and has been known to my uncle Odell since he was a kid. He knows that it is full of fish after a flood and they are easy to seine.

We seined with a 60 footer that my uncle always kept in good shape. We got a lot of carp, bream, suckers and a ton of catfish. I don't know the count, but we only kept the catfish and there were 6 tow sacks full. I remember dragging them about a quarter of a mile to his old panel truck, briars and brambles all the way.

The most catfish on rod and reel in 4 hours or less was at Lake Tawakoni this past June. My grandson and I caught 22 nice keepers and several 12 inchers we threw back. We used Owner #6 red trebles and two containers of worms bought at Walmart on the day we went fishing.
We gave the keepers that we had strung up on a piece of coathanger wire attached to some tv cable wire. When we first started fishing , we lost 6 or 8 fish when the "splice" between the two came loose.

I am going to have to jump in and be a liar also, because two years ago, a friend and me caught our limit, 50 blues, in 3 1/2 hours on lavon.

Call me a Liar also I have to admit I have pics on hear to prove that I am a Liar....at least I am not alone in the liar's club ...anyway isnt lying part of being a good fisherman?

Put me on the liars list too. Along with my 5-year old daughter and a bunch of others that have fished in my boat. My website has a bunch of photos to prove the lies as well.

Add me also to the liar's list. I've had trips where the fishing was so hot you could only fish 1 rod. I've caught a limit (25) fish in less than 1 hour by myself! I've also fished with Bobby and he has put us on fish and limited my son and I out is less than 2 hours.
Oh yea, all fish were caught on DK or Secret 7.

Me too, me too, last year before Grapevine filled up a friend and I boated over 60 in Denton creek with a strong current flowing. Don't remember how many hours but we normally fish with 10 rods and had to cut back to 4 because we couldn't keep them baited. Rangeing from 1-20#'s. We both were too tired to clean any and released them all.

I heartily disagree! Partner and I caught over 70 (quit counting around 60 or so) blues on Lavon from 3p-7p 2 years ago! We're catchin em 2,3,4 at a time. We usually spread out 16 rods (8 each) but could only get out and keep up with 4 each that day and at times I had 4 on at the same time. Caught between 30-50 NUMEROUS times at both Lavon and Tawakoni. At an ACATS tourney on Tawakoni 3 yrs ago we had 5 fish in the boat in less than 5 minutes from settin the first rod out.
