Just got my first salt water rod/real. Nothing fancy, just a Shakespeare "Tiger Shark" combo. Was wanting to know what type of equipment I need to get started? I already have a few leaders and bobber leaders. Also a good recommendation for shore fishing would be good. Just getting back into fishing after being off in the Marine Corps.

welcome to the jungle. where will you be fishing and for what? a tiger rod makes me think your looking for bigger fish, bullred, jackfish and so on. what kind of reel? i would say if galveston is for you, hit the galveston fishing peir on 91st and seawall or the flagship fishing pier on 25th seawall. cut shad or mullet for bait. just remember its called fishing not catchin.
SLAY AND FILLET,i hate the CCA/STAR!

The real is a Shakespeare tigershark baitcaster. I was hoping you could tell me what to go after here on the coast. I'm going to try those fishing piers this weekend since I'll be in Laporte anyways.
