I was thinking about making one.
Do any of you use a stake out stick & if so what are you using?

Stake out pole is a must. Mine is the blue and white one on the left in this pic.

My brother made it for me from a fiberglass fence post.

look on the TKF. I bought a fiberglass rod from some place mentioned there. I had my dad machine a threaded brass tip on it and then used a godl grip for the other end. If I canfind some pics I'll post them.

I got one just like it, but with a LIMEGREEN top. You use it to hold your position when you are in shallow water. It is especially handy in saltwater flats where an anchor is just plain silly. Just stick it thru a scupper and into the lake bed. TCF's and mine have a noodle attached at the top to keep it from shooting thru if you happen into a 8' deep hole. In my Hobie the scuppers are not handy so I use a 1/4" chord tied to the handle and an eyelet on the gunnel. You can do that with a canoe also.

Goto a golf club repair shop and they will have some driver shafts with grips, make nice shallow water poles. I picked up half dozen carbob fiber ones for free from a local shop.

I have had an identity change since yesterday but click below and that's what I bought. I ground the tip to a point and it works great so far. You can even use the black tip to cover the point you make. I've used it in the salt and the fresh. Right now I just run it through a scupper hole. JOLT 54in SORTING POLE Hope this helps
