Started around 4pm today and lake was almost flat calm with very few boats. Sandies were on fire at both murell and the island. We tore them up early catching many doubles and plenty of good sized fish too. Then it happened... all the after work skiers and jetskis starting buzzing around and the fish basically scattered and went deep. Still caught fish but was so much tougher after all the crazy boats started buzzing around. We had to basically drag out lures on the bottom slowly to get a bite. Decided to keep some of the nice fat ones for the frying pan today and had a fun afternoon.

Oh I did see a white stratos with blue stipe and a nissan motor so thinking I finally saw JW over by the island. Was it you JW? I waved but you were on the run and didn't spot me.

I don't take many pics of my sandies but thought i'd snap a shot of a pair of the larger ones today just for fun. They sure do put up a fun fight on light tackle!

Nice looking day oldrock. It looks like you whacked them. I'm off on Fri. and Sat. so I'll be out there Fri. for sure. I'll have my kids and probably my sons baseball coach with me. Hope we do as well as you.

it started off a great day. Check that background in the pic. When was last time you saw grapevine with no boats around in the area around the dam? Makes me wish we could ban jetskies and ski boats one day a week. I'd be such a happy camper.

whats happenin Saturday?

I was out there Tuesday but not Wednesday. The lake was far from calm Tuesday. I did catch a few on the north bank east of Murrel but nothing great for sure. I did pass by the island that evening around 7 but it was too rough and nothing on the graph to make me want to get beat up in my tiny boat.
I do plan on being at the Lewisville sandie tournament Saturday with a friend of mine. I had to take a rod back to Academy last night since I snapped it into on an 8" sandie. The wife laughed at me when I almost fell out the other side of the boat.
