Big jetties are a good spot if the water is calm enough to get there safely. Good sheepshead, big reds, occaisional trout. You can go out to Matagorda Island, anchor up and wade (or troll) lighthouse cove, army hole, if the tides up, you might be able to get back to Conte, Fifth lake, Pringle..... Usually pretty good fishin. Have a ball

For reds, fish the big jetties. There is an eddy pool on the right side about 1/2 way out. Fish the drop off but have a good anchor and at least 100 ft of rope. The shale gets hard to hang sometimes. If the tide is too strong and incomig, fish on either side of the opening on the bay side. You can also fish between the jetty and bird island. For trout this time of year, fish early at pass cavallo or wade the cedars, located between the big jetty and pass cavallo. Good luck.
