was out all night Friday night. There was so much bait the crappie wouldn't even look at my minnows. Would reccomend going back in to Rockey for crappie there is to much bait coming out of Grape right now. I hooked a few crappie on a spinner bait bass fishing Saturday morning.

Brenda put up some cam's so hopefully it will stop the problems she's been having, and not ruin it for the rest of us.

Thanks for the help. We are going to try some bass before it gets dark. Are the bass biting near Rocky? I know a few spots that I used to catch them in Rocky.

I hear ya on the weather Randy. I just got my boat completely finished today (did alot of upgrades over the last couple of months as I got the time, and didn't wanna take it out until finished). Planned to go over today and change a trailer light, put the new registration sticker on, fire it up to make sure it'd run, then take it to Buffalo just to run it around a little bit before the trip to AH. Ran it a little on the water hose, looked at the sky, and put it back in the storage unit. Sky looked a little nasty. Looks like I may end up @ AH tomorrow possibly.

I'm late in posting my results for Friday night, but Roy and I made it out to the lake. The shad ran so thick that it was hard to catch a whole lot, but we finally caught some nice keepers. We had several in the 11.5 to 12 inch range.

We fished our usual spots near Rocky. The better crappie were running from 16 to 18 feet deep. Minnows did a fair job, and I started using a 2 inch wild eyes in shad color when the shad started running so thick. Caught several on the wild eyes by pitching it out and keeping a good feel on the line as it sank. It would get a hit nearly every time out, but getting the set was another story.

We also hauled in a five lb 3 oz bass on a light crappie rod. I say we, because all I did was hold on to that line stripping rascal until Roy netted him. He was released with a rather indignant splash.

Over all it was a great night to be out until my engine battery decided to quit. A little deft work and a trolling battery did the job to get us in.

Just got in from the lake, and it wasn't too good. I drive all the way to Grubs and they have no bait. So I turn around and head back to the store up by the hughway. Go inside and the lady informs me that they lost power the other night int he storm and all their minnows died. She sold the last of the bass minnows earlier in the day. So we went out and tried for some bass. I lost one on a buzz bait and my boys both said that they had a bite.

So the trip turned into a boat driving lesson for 2 9 year olds. I never had anyone teach me so I figured why not get them started young.

I will call ahead of time before I leave tomorrow and se if they got bait.

So it was YOUR kid that about ran me over out there! J/K

I learned REAL quick to call ahead before going to WR or AH to see if they've got bait. Nothing ruins a night on the crappie barge like getting down there and there not being any minnows available.
