I am trying to rewire my trolling motor. I have a minnkota all terrain 70# thrust trolling motor. All I can see it is a 24 volt trolling motor.
Can I wire this 12/24 volt.
If so I want to use my 12/24 receptacle-charge plug that is already there. (there are four wires color coded from 2 12 volt batteries from back to front of boat)
Next Since I am adding a extra battey can I still use a a 1 bank battery charge to charge both trolling motor batteries?

Thanks for any help

you only need two of the wires to the recepticle. one of these connects to batt 1 (+) this is the one that will match up to the trolling motor positive. the other connects to batt 2 (-) and the trolling motor negative.

add a jumper wire from batt 1 (-) to batt 2 (+).

the batteries will have to be charged one at a time, or else with a 2-bank charger.

You are trying to use the front plug to wire a charger into it? If all four wires are hooked up to the front plug with two sets of pos and two sets of neg and there is a jumper in the trolling motor plug then you are already hooked up so that you can get a charging plug to hook to the charger and charge both batteries from your front plug. If this is right????? Boat must be older then 1999?
