live shad? I know it's cheaper to catch'em myself but I dont have the money to spend on a quality net until next week. I have a shad keeper setup I just put together from Wally World but until I can get the net I need to find a bait shop that sells live shad.
So does anyone know of any bait shops in the White Rock or Ray Hubbard area that sells'em?

Just cause there's water don't mean there's fish

I honestly do not think you can buy them anywhere. Seriously.........

You need to spend the $25 on a net and go get em yourself.

Not sure you can buy live shad. Just go to Academy and get you a net. They aint hard to throw then you get all the bait you need.thumb

ya can't buy live shad at bait shops because they're too hard to keep alive for long periods of time. most bait shop owners don't even know how to keep shad alive for a day much less keep them alive for a couple weeks and they'd probably have to sell them for $5 a dozen in order to make a profit on them because the setup to keep them alive and to go get them and transport them would be quite costly. no bait distribution company would ever try to market them either ... they're just too timid.

A cast net will cost you less that $30 bucks in a lot of places. Keep in mind it will pay for itself in the amount of bait you catch. If you rip it or lose it after a few trips, just think of the amount of money you will spend buying bait. They more that pay for themselves after a couple of trips. I just buy the cheapest ones, and still catch too much bait sometimes.

There's a place on Roberts Cutoff, off of Jacksboro Hwy./199 about 1/2 mile south/east of Hwy 820 that has a good selection of live bait. Black saltys/large minnows/small minnows/and perch/bluegill. I just wish they were more centrally located in the metromess. I can't remember the name of the place but if your going south on 199, turn left at Roberts Cutoff and it's about 1/4 block on the right. Back off the road. thumb

Go early morning and throw around lighted marinas and boat docks.
