We launched off the Texas City Dike and headed over to Sea Wolf park. The water was much rougher than the forcast said it was going to be. We were catching sand trout pretty much every other cast. We then headed down to the south jetty. It was pretty smooth on the ship channel side. We caught a bunch of sand trout, a couple of 18" specks, and a few hard heads. We could see a larger boat on the other side of the jetty and several times we could see them fighting some large fish probably big reds. Decent size waves were crashing from the gulf side of the jetty but we decided we'd try to go over there. Once we got around the end of the jetty we decided the waves were bigger than we wanted to deal with and went back to our previous spot.
Hopefully the winds will change and fishing will pick up. We plan on trying the Moses lake area on Thursday.
I did see a bunch of glass from car/truck windows at the last boat ramp parking area on the dike. Looks like thieves must be breaking into vehicles when people are out fishing. I heard they may start charging a fee for the dike beggining next year. I think it will be a good thing and hopefully some of the drunks/litterbugs/thieves will go somewhere else on the weekends. This is the first time I've launched off the dike on a weekday and it was very nice. No crowds or traffic and the port a potties were actually clean.

Thank The Good Lord that I have never been broken into at Texas City dike. This year I have used that boat ramp at least 2 times a month not this month but in the past 6 wife and I have launched from there and never had anything stolen.
