Send me another Pm if you are interested, I will be out there again next Saturday I think, if I can put a few other guys in the boat with me. Actually, I probably won't be doing much fishing at all for the next couple of weeks. My work has me busy as can be lately, and in the heat all day. So I'm taking a hiatus from local fishing until we go to the coast in the middle of the month. Good luck to ya though. Jay

As you said, you are one of the truly clueless people he was referring to!!! WHy would you troll directly through a school of surfacing fish to only catch as many fish as you have lines out? Then you have to run your baits back out, re-position your boat and ruin it for all others around just because you are lazy. IF YOU WOULD STOP......YOU WOULD CATCH MORE FISH THAN TROLLING SIMPLY CASTING A BAIT. That is so inconsiderate of you and you should have more respect for people than that. Maybe you should stick with Catfishing as your screen name entails. We have a winner!!!!!!! You could not have said it any more clearer!!!! Thank you!!! I have never understood why people will run right through the middle of a big school of fish when there is others playing nice!!!! irritates the tar out of me everytime... J.J.

Well all I am going to say is. If you dont think we should troll through schools of fish maybe you need to think about it. I troll through them numerous times and do quite well. Trolling is a method of fishing and ive never had the motor scare the fish. And I dont beleive you have either. And for the next part We all can work things out. Im always open for suggestions. If you think you are talking to the peanut gallery bud you have another thing coming. I spend lots of time on that lake and i can assure you this problem will reoccur because im one of those yahoo's that will continue to troll as i damn well please. Now who looks stupid. If i catch fish i will in your eyes. I just keep laughing as im catching. Have a wonderfull week

Catfishterry how is the catfishing?  By the way Hybrids spook very easy and will scatter fast not like SB. Thats why you dont troll around everyone who is working there trolling motors.The fish will come up and then go down. Then they will come up again but if someone trolls by they might scatter. Some of us are looking to catch big fish it's not about keeping a limmit. I release more fish in one year than some people catch in a life time. There are a few Asin guys in a boat that troll through everyone and people are getting tired of it  . If the boat has scratches on it it from people hitting them with slabs.

I just get real put out with people that have no respect for others fishing. If you are too lazy to cast, then stay away from the schoolers. They spook easy and trolling straight through them immediately puts them down. Some people do not understand that and ruin it for everyone. If I were a guide on Tawakoni, I would go crazy dealing with that type of stuff on a daily basis.

again, a situation that has happened to me on tawakoni
i have had a couple of occasions where I had out markers and was trolling and people come up and start slabbing within casting distance of my markers, even had one guy give me a funny look when I trolled by and it was my marker
i came by again and he gave me the both arms "what's up" shrug
we do not troll through surfacing fish ever, we use a trolling motor for that but i have been the only boat on a spot on more than one occasion, had brids start working the area and you look up and you have several "new" friends who race over and start casting it ain't always the trollers messing up the casters

In my experience it has always been the other way around. I'm not implying that what you are saying didn't happen, but rather, it hasn't happened to me. Trolling definately has it's time and place and most anglers have at least done it once. But, I think the main point here is why would someone troll through surfacing fish? I had a guy troll right in front of me while I was working a school of fish. The water was boiling over a good area of water and as he passed, I just shook my head. The guy yelled out if I had a problem and gave me some other gestures. I don't respond to idiots, so I went about my fishing or rather catching. Now, this guy did catch a couple of fish as he trolled through, but when he turned around and headed back, he didn't get anything and after nothing on the third pass, he moved on. This genious probably didn't realize that I wasn't shaking my head at him, because I was mad, I was shaking my head because I felt sorry for him. Why did I feel sorry for him? Because I caught several nice hybrids and several good size sand bass, to his two or three sand bass, while he trolled his little heart out. And, I didn't have to burn any gas to do it  You may think that I don't like trollers, but truth be told, it is a very effective form of fishing, given the right situation. When I set out on a fishing trip, I want to use the most effective method possible, for any given situation. And sometimes, trolling is the most effective (sometimes only) method for catching the fish I target. However, trolling through surfacing fish isn't very effective at all and actaully it will accomplish three things, 1) It will make everyone else not like you, 2) It will spook any hybrids and/or scatter the fish(leading back to #1) and 3) It will let everyone know that you don't have the first clue about how to catch fish
