The fishing today was just like the weather...smoking hot! I started out at 10:30 and saw Lakeguide when I first got on the water. Told him I was going south. The normally lying birds didn't lie today as I came into a huge school of sandies and hybrids as they were picking up the scraps. I had the place all to myself for awhile which was great on a weekend and rare. The other boats showed up, nice to see you Minh, and we proceeded to catch large sandies and hybrids right at 17 & 1/2 inches. I only caught two hybrids that were over 19 inches. Everyone around was catching fish until a party barge decided to come over and troll through and around the fish. At least he had a pretty girl on the back so it wasn't a total loss. The fish would settle to the bottom and then come back up as he moved away only to repeat itself all over again and again as he drove right through them. All fish caught on two oz slabs green and yellow in 26-30 ft. of water. 67 fish released and twenty kept for my friends at Lakeside marina.

where did you run into them?
I got on the lake about 11:30 and caught only Sandies, but they were larger today. Found them surfacing south of the jettie about even with the power plant.

JV4Nitro,

No purple buzzbaits this time. I'm saving them for the big ones that show up in the winter on top by the dam. I also ran out of bubble gum trailers so I don't want to be at a disadvantage on the water. You need to post a picture of the what the purple buzzbait really looks like since you are the proud owner of this precious bait. JV4Nitro really does have this lure for those that think this is a joke....

David, great to see ya out there! Ran into several TFF'ers out there! The fishing started out pretty good and got better all morning. Lots of people kinda ran the schools down, but all in all it was a good day out on the water.

BTW, SuperDuck gave me a few slabs out there and I tied some right on. They will knock the bottom out of the sandies! Can't wait to see his swim baits! Thanks again Mike!

Ah, but the Purple Buzzbait is awesome for trolling!!! David wasn't supposed to say anything about the Bubble Gum trailer, since this, in conjunction with the Purple Buzzbait, is a hybrid killer.

Todd, I'll hook you and David up with some Purple Buzzbaits, this way you, David, me & Super duck can troll down south when the time is right. And the time is almost right thumb Minh, if I post a pic of it, then everyone will know what to use. When I see you on the lake next time, I'll show you one smile

If Mike has enough silver bullets, everything will look purple.
