My boat motor has a blown cylinder so there will not be any reports for a while from the Fish Inspector. Bass fishing has been slow but the Cats were biting up the river the other day.
Fishing is always BETTER THAN STAINING DECKS!

I fished about two hours the other day just up river and caught 8 cats, but they were all undersize on Danny Kings!
These are the dog days of summer and there are going to be better days, and it gets hot fast right after daylight, so I'd just go ahead and get it out of the way and stain that deck!
Just one more cast!

Stain the deck. Fished from 6:30 to 2:30 today.
Points, humps, upriver & everything in between. Nada.
Summer is here.
Lake down at least 10 ft.

Thanks all for the reports. I think I'll save the gas money. My brother in law likes to go after Cats. Maybe I'll go with him instead in the evenings and heck with the deck. It's too hot anyway.

Yeah, Canyon is way off right now. Save the money and go to Choke or Amistad and catch a boatload. I cannot remember ever fishing a lake that turns off like Canyon did this summer. Pretty strange deal. I used to average 15-20 fish an afternoon at Medina this time of year. Guess ol' Canyon needs to get re-stocked with fish sometime soon.

Was heading out to Canyon Sat, but plans have changed. Looks like the majority of the ramps have been closed. With the very few still open, I'm not going to fight the crowd for a spot. Looks like my Canyon Lake boating will be over until the lake comes up.
I have my name in for a slip at Randolph AFB marina, hopefully it won't take several years.
Heading out to Calaveras on Sunday.

Probably more are closed than what is listed on the website since it doesn't mention either Ft. Sam or Randolph AFB ramps and both are closed.
I'll be on Calaveras Sunday.

Closed. Those are county ramps. Are all the other ramps, both county and Corps ramps still open in the parks?
