I agree, I went on The Earnest Seminar on Friday, very informative, very educational. Worth your time and resources for all that is learned. I wil be a better fisherman for it.

Thanks guy's, I appreciate your good comments.
I learned something today too. Be careful where you point the jig hook and where you hold it when shooting docks.
Buried one in my leg past the barb, (glad it was my leg) had to decide whether to push it on thru or try to pull it out backwards. Decided to pull it back out with the pliers. Worked OK but hurt like hell.

Worked OK but hurt like hell. Oh, and have been hooked myself back years ago, fishing for schooling bass/sand bass near the south island/damn area. Threw a tiny torpedo(two treble hooks) and hooked a sticked. Got impatient, it whizzed off the stick and right below my bottom lip with blood drippin' down. My buddy found it funny and took a picture and wrote "Now that's a big bass!". Oh the glory. You know helleva alot more than me Ernest, but Guy Skinner and Scott(CrappieMaster) always told me to hold the jig head and point the hook away from you when shooting(know you know this already). Thanks to those two, I can shoot any size jig and teaching a few other folks I know about it too, just they don't have the darn patience and either release the line too early, or not at all(the latter is when that hook can nab ya!). I may have to inquire about a trip with you soon, since it has been deemed on here your the jig-master when it comes to crappie jiggin'. I love to catch em' on jigs better than minners, but will use some minners in the Summer like this past Sunday to catch a few.

I think the point is no matter how well you think you can shoot just be careful, it happens to the best of them...

Martin,
I knew the 'point' and was just harassing the ole guy and havin' a lil' fun.
But yeah, had my share of nicks and snags(in my skin) from hooks. Happens to the best of em'.

Buried one in my leg past the barb, (glad it was my leg) had to decide whether to push it on thru or try to pull it out backwards. Decided to pull it back out with the pliers. Worked OK but hurt like hell. Have you ever tried the fishing line trick where you pop it back out backwards? Had a fiesty Fork crappie bury one past the barb in my knuckle 2 weeks ago. I've heard about people doing, but never seen it done. Wasn't wanting the first time I saw it be done on me, but my podnuh called John Tanner and he come and met us at the ramp and popped it right out, didn't hurt at all, I think I could do it again. Even tied that jig back on and put another half dozen keepers or so in the boat before I stuck in in a pile.
