This might not be the spot to ask this but.........I figured someone out there might know this. Is it legal in coastal waters to have someone riding in the bow of the boat? I have an open bow 20ft fish and ski and was told that you could not have someone ride in the bow. I have searched the USCG regs and find nothing. That doesn't mean it's not there I just can't find it. Does anyone know?
Thanks

Tex,

As long as their is seating below the planr of the tops of your gunnels people are allowed to ride there. It would not be permitted in a bass boat where the "seat on a pole" set up is common or on the nose of a powerboat where there is no seating at all...That being said..if a TP&W gamewarden or lake police officer tells you to get the people off the bow of the boat....its probally a good idea to comply....two people that ya just dont jack with...Game Wardens and drive through fast food employees.....they can JACK your world.

Thanks Mr Barstow. Sound advice about both people.

Look at your USCG plate in the boat, it should show where to ride on it. That should work since it is approved by the CG.
