Just talked to the guy at Copano Bay and he said the water clarity is totally different from yesterday. Almost normal with little wind right now. Looks like it might be decent.

Guess, that must be in the deeper water at the causeway or upper Copano Bay he was talking about???...
A lady at Park office at GISP a few hours ago, said the water there was (brown)...But it is, suppossed to be light SSE winds thru the weekend...Probally won't be able to make it to GISP by 10:00 (when they close gates) to fish the pier there...But might go ahead and leave this evening, and try the Causeway Pier and Little Bay in the morning. Then off to GISP,PC,BHP and Pins. Will post report when I get back...

Yeah that was a guy at the causeway. I think we're going to head out around 6:00. We'll try Goose Island first and if that sucks we'll head over to the causeway. Do you know if that Shotgun place or anybody else around there stay open late with croakers ? Does the causeway ever have croakers ? I really don't want to have to drive into Rockport and will probably be dark by the time we get there for castnetting.

Can't help you there...I usually just free-line Piggy perch, for trout...Should be able to catch a few in cast net at the boat ramp, or right at entrance to pier in GISP day or night...Or real small perch-hooks, with peeled shrimp to catch croakers...

Anyhow, got to go start packing up..And then get some rest and head down about midnight myself...Hoping to try Little Bay at daybreak, then head to MISP... Good Luck...

Four of us fished Friday and Saturday. Limited on good Reds both days on cut shad and mullet. Found 1 keeper trout in two days. Not a big deal since we were mainly targeting Reds. Water was very off colored at best.

Off colored is right. The clearest water I found was about 1 foot visibility.

Buddy of mine came down friday night to help me install a new tranny in the truck. woke up saturday morning to get started and decided to take a look around in the kayaks. Just out of the canal, first cast on topwater I landed and released this 28.5" trout. Trout was a snake, not much girth to her.

Fished about an hour with only dinks biting. Headed on in to play shade tree machanic.

Water was clear in the protected areas, dirty in the wind blown.

Goose Island was decent. Some Reds, few trout, few sheepshead but almost everything was small. Tried surf fishing for about 30 seconds at Port A on Saturday. Way too much weed in the water to even think about that. Water was very dark too on the surf side of the jetty, good on the ship channel side.
Nothing at the Jetty. Decided to drink beer and play horseshoes instead since we were staying on the beach.
