After Jerry & Paul's seminar last night I don't think limpness will be as big of a deal for me as I'm going to try baitcasters on my jig rods. It never dawned on my pea brain that the biggest contributor to line twist when jig fishing might be the spinning reels I've been using.

I got some 4lb and was very disappointed in its strength. I may have gotten a bad spool because it breaks way to easily. if your talking about the Mr Crappie< then more than likely you did get a bad spool. Unfortunatly i have pulled large brushpiles up using 4#...if your knots are good, then you can pull the plug outa the bottom of the lake..that stuff acts like 10-12lb test

Very interesting, and I love reading and sharing info and Opinions are important. I may not always agree with them, but I respect them. Thankyou!
I agree The Spinning Reel just has a design flaw and twisted and slack line is just something users have to live with. Im using Power Pro 10lb on it now and it will twist and sometimes come off the spool in bunches creating tangles in the line. I like the feel of the power pro(less stretch)But I'm not sold that its that much better than Mr Crappie.
I will probably return back to the Mr Crappie line #6 as I have had very good luck with it's strength and telegraphing ability. However, I do retie my hooks and jigs very often to keep nicks and scuffs that weaken the line, and light line knots can't take much abuse. "Line Maintence" is a must when using light Mono. And if one is going to use 'Spinning' reels, you will have to change your line often and stretch it every now and then. All of this is part of fishing in my book and I have no problem with it. But you can count on my son in law showing up to go fishing and his reel will have the same line on it that it did last year and I'll have to listen to him complain until I give him one of my rods....
