If the year were over and, the two drops were figured in, here's how the standings would look today. This is for Classic qualifying and angler of the year standings.

Net Points (with two worst dropped)
1 PAUL O'BIER 435
2 JERRY HANCOCK 430
3 GARY SIMS 385
4 GUY SKINNER 365
5 JAY DON REEVE 345
6 ERIC POPPELL 335
6 JAMES RAINS 335
8 GEORGE NELON 320
9 BILL CARR 310
9 TRACY LEARD 310
11 PAT MARTIN 305
12 ANH NGUYEN 295
13 ERNEST PATY 270
14 PHIL BRADSHAW 250
15 RON CONASTER 240
16 JAMES ABERCROMBIE 225
16 JAMES COFFMAN 225
18 CHARLES HOUSE 210
18 JIMMY LEONARD 210
20 KURT WESTENHOEFER 205
21 TREVOR WORTHINGTON 200
22 MACKEY WHYTE 190
23 BILL SHIVERS 180
23 EVIN SHIVERS 180
23 TY STEED 180

34 ERIC WALKER 145
35 JOHNNY MERRIMAN 140
35 MIKE WILSON 140
37 TOD FRIDGE 135
38 TOBY GRAY 130
38 TIM LAVAS 130
38 JASON LYONS 130
-------------------------------------- above the line would be qualified to fish the Classic. There's time to move up if you fish the last three tournaments.

These are close.

41 JIM BARNES 115
41 KATIE BARNES 115
41 RHONDA REEVE 115
41 ANDY RODRIGUEZ 115
45 DON LAWRENCE 105
45 ALPHONSO TIPPIE 105
47 CLIFF DALTON 100
47 DANNY SALAZAR 100
47 ALAN WORTHINGTON 100

Remember, You have to drop your worst two of nine tournaments. There's lots of time left to change the standings.

This fiction would only apply if the year were over and required two drops.

The Classic is going to be a big deal so try to qualify.

Note: FYI, This tournament will not be a typical club DRAW tournament. It is planned to be a special bonus event. If both members of a Male/female team or adult/child team qualify, they may fish together. All other qualified entries will be placed in one hat and drawn for partners. It will be up to the individual fishermen to arrange for a boat to use.

Question based on the FYI. Not that I expect this to happen, but suppose that 2 non boat owners are selected as partners, since its up to the individual fishermen to arrange for a boat to use, is it possible for each to fish in separate boats? While I expect the answer to be in the negative, until the structure is determined and published, ie partners score the same like in all the previous tournaments as opposed to individual scoring altho sharing a boat, the aforementioned question has merit.

in any case, I was just wondering.

hmmmUh, no. if I understand the Question, heck the answer is no no matter what the question is, I think, maybe. confused (there will be no points.) one boat per team. It's a team tournament, both members share the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat.

Full rules will be posted after the next board meeting.

Let me get this straight you are going to drop your 2 lowest scores? So if I fish only three tournaments two of those tournament scores will be dropped? Why drop points at all the purpose is to rack up as many points as possible. What does dropping the two lowest scores accomplish?

No, if you only fish three tournaments then you would drop two of the zero's you got in the tournaments you didn't fish.

You count your best 7 of 9 scores for the year.

Most circuits have one or two drops. Next year we probably will have fewer point tournaments and won't drop any.

We will fill in the schedule with some fun type draw tournaments. We also may have some on water instructional trips where we all meet at a lake and take several folks out at a time for demo's and instruction.
