You mean the little road that you get to turning east onto Orchard Hill of Chinn Chapel? If it's the area with the all-dirt parking area, then yes, I've been there hundreds of times. That whole area was nothing but a 30' wide creek a couple of years ago, but all the rain in spring of '07 flooded out the acreage. Definitely made fishing a little more diverse from just sandbass! Any good areas you can recommend for catfishing? Preferrable times of day/year?

Yeah thats the area I was referring to. I might go out there this week sometime.
For catfish I usually go to the river either off of sandy lake rd in coppell, or off of hebron near 35.

Might have to check out the cats in those areas! If you do head out to Chinn Chapel, try taking a 1/2 mile walk to the left of the parking area; just follow the horse trail. You'll come to an area with some stagnant water on your righthand side; look for the the little trail there that leads to the shoreline. It may look overgrown, but if you walk through the low brush past the still water you'll find an open shoreline where I built a fishing pole holder (holds 3 poles). Nice little area with PLENTY of room to move around and cast. Happy fishing!

You go north on I-35 and exit Hwy 407; go west on 407 for a WHILE. Eventually, you'll turn right onto Chinn Chapel. Follow that down till it dead ends; make a right on Orchid Hill. You'll go down about 1/8 mile and turn left onto an unnamed drive. This'll dead end into a dirt parking lot. Hop out and walk in any direction; you'll find water.

If you're referring to the Trinity River, you're sure to find it anywhere you see a pool of water that appears to be fed by a larger tributary. Dallas as a whole is one of largest collecitons of off-shoots when it comes to the Trinity River system. One of the more popular locaitons is McKinnish Park located west off of Sandy Lake Road. You'll find large mouth, small mouth, cats and PLENTY of long nose gar. As a matter of fact, I went out there tonight and had a dipsh*t gar stealing the chicken livers right off my treble hook for the better part of an hour. If you don't get any action at McKinnish, go back under the highway and head north - take a right on Jackson; that'll take to Ken Good pond. Two separated ponds that have a decent bass population - just watch out for the hydrilla (plants) growing over the water. Can't tell you how many times I've lost a lure to mother nature...
