I am from Dallas and will be staying in a beach house on Surfside Beach the first week in August.

Can some one recommend specifics on a Gold spoon to use along the beach for Redfish? Single or treble hook? Spoon size? Brand?

I prefer the single hook weedless spoon in a 1/4 ounce. Texas tackle factory makes a good one as well as Johnson. The treble hook spoons work well if there isnt much grass.

larger size. No grass to worry about. The larger sizes

here you go. use a johnson sprite in silver 3/4oz. last night, i fished side by side with a guy and i use js and he was using a weedless and i got 7 redfish to his one. can't beat a js. also,try to find a lurh jensen silver casting/trooling spoon in 1 oz. man, you cah launch them into next week. treble hooks only.

Agree w/johnson sprite 3/4 oz. I like to attach a bucktail to mine...take both silver and gold w/gold usually working better on reds and silver on trout.

Day in and day out give me an old fashioned js spoon in the surf and it will outfish anything else.

silver spoons are really the only color i like. the 1oz i was talking about above is killer. you can get some LONG cast with them. i can't find the 1oz around galveston. if you happen to see some of them, please let me know. i may ask someone to pick up 2 or 3 for me.
