i went catfishing for some channels a couple of hours ago for about an hour and 30 minutes in a creek in farmers branch. i was using a slip weight rig with livers. i only caught 2 fish a sunfish and a small channel. anyways i had a really big hit i set the hook and started reeling in my drag was set as tight as it could go and it was taking my line out i had my finger on the line and the line cut into my skin. finally i got it up to the bank it had to of been 20 lbs or more then i tried to get it up on the bank and it snapped my line. a couple of minutes later i had another hit i could tell it was the same cat so i tried pulling it up to a small dam to the right of me and got it up on the bank this time it didn't break the line but it got off the hook. bang

Just one of those days

They call it fishing, not catching for a reason..

Just one cast and you could have your name in the books!

Thats impressive! Believe it or not, most of the creeks in Farmers Branch are teeming with huge bass as well. What creek were you fishing at?

If you're ever up for going for cats out in Lewisville, let me know. There's a great place off 407 I can point you to; backwoods area, perfect for cat and killer gar.
