Ready to catch some Dorado, Wahoo, tuna and maybe a billfish out of Galveston. How far will I have to go to have any luck? Few weeks ago I hooked up a 25# Dorado trolling weeds at about 10 miles, but I feel like that may have been a fluke.
Looking at the topo it appears due South off of the South jetty is the direction and shortest distance to the deeper water.

We had a bunch of chicken dodos at 12 miles offshore due south of Galveston last Sunday. As for the wahoo and sails prolly gonna have to get at least 40 miles I would think. Might have a better shot out of Freeport or Matty.

about 40 miles due south from the tip of the south jetties, your in about 105 to 120 ft of water. i have killed the kingfish and snapper with 1 wahoo at 65lbs in the area of VA FOGG. tuna and billfish, i sat you will need to head out a bit more. 75 plus mile range.
