I'm 24 and a father of one, a husband for 4yrs and a soon to be continuing education student of the Respiratory Therapy program. I just started fishing as a hobby in the summer of '07. When I started my focus was large mouth and stripe bass. That didnt work out too well. This year I'm all about catfish. I'm liking the results alot better but everybody fishes different. Thanks for having me!

Hi and welcome. You are sure to meet lots of new fishing friends and get some great tips. Notice that there is a forum dedicated to catfishing. You probably also want to add your city into your profile.

2 words: Range Cubes

Go to a feed store and get some range cubes. Throw them in the area you will be fishing every 30 minutes or so. It will keep the fish around in the area.

Kolban- I added my city. Thanks for the headsup.

ANP- That sounds like great advice but where do I get them at.

Any feed store will have them - they are used for livestock. Not sure of a place in your area though. You can get a 50 lb bag for $10.00

Ok, I did some searching and found out about'em. Sounds like great stuff. I even came across what's called chumming. Now I can be a real catfisherman food

I'm definitely gonna do that but I'm gonna modify them in my own ways of course.

Any ideas?

I plan to inject mine with some chicken liver blood and rub them down in bait dip but I may still have to watch for turtles, u think?

Welcome from North Texas. Another thing that will work for the cats is sour some maze and put it in burlap bags, also a brick to help sink, then tie it off. Drop it where you will be fishing and good place for several days.
