LOL.... I dont know how to take this one. What have you been smoking? Must be better than what you can get at the local ma and pop store. I have heard of a few lakes having some kind of crab in them but not blue crabs. I think I read something at one time about Fairfield or some powerplant lake having crabs. Just dont know which one and I have never seen one or heard of one outside of that article.

One more question, Are you releasing a bunch of blue crabs in some area lake? I just find it funny that someone would ask about blue crabs in a local lake. I know who to contact if I do run into any blue crabs at the local honey holes.

believe it or not
i read this thread the other day and...
Last night while fishing at Granbury, i was fishing at the marina and this kid comes down to the marina, he is talking giberish about minnows and stuff and crabs!!! After a little while he said he was gonna go catch some bait, i figured minnows, but after about 15 minutes he comes back with a small crab. I do mean small it was about the size of a dime, but it was a crab

it was a brown crab. anyone know about these?
i saw several of these crabs last night and they were all about the size of a dime or smaller. do they get any bigger than that? this kid and his friend turn over rocks and find them.

learned something new that day

Some of the freshwater lakes down on the coast have them. They migrate up the rivers and find their way in through irrigation and pumping systems. The lake in Lake Jackson has them. I've seen them myself. I've heard Dow Reservoir has them and a few other lakes in the area.

Don't know about blues, but there are some little fresh water crabs in the lakes. See them most of the time when diving PK. Mostly shallow in the gravel. The biggest I have seen was about the size of a quarter. Cute little buggers.

Maybe crabs are kind of like crawfish...some crawfish will turn a brilliant blue color at certain times.

Some of the best crabing in the Corpus Area is done right in the Nueces River. And not in the mouth were the river meets the bay either. The spot is a little further up stream.

Granbury has tons of freshwater crabs. I saw a lot of them at one of the Lone Star Tournament Trail Carp Tournaments there. During the day they hide under the rocks and wood along the shoreline, so that's where to look for them if you see them.

They look a little like small brown fiddler crabs, I think they get up to about the size of a quarter.

Granbury has them, and I believe a few other lakes in that Chain including Whitney have them as well.
