I am newer at jig fishing and am wondering what some of yalls favorite jig colors are, and do yall prefer hand tied or just the tubes. Also what are the weight and hook combos that yall prefer.

Thanks in advance,
John.

1/16th-1/8th ounce.

You can take black/chart and white/chart and fish on any lake and catch fish.

I prefer tubes but hand tied jigs work. I'll downsize in the summer but for the most part I want something larger and plastic offers more choices.

A #4 hook is my favorite next would be a #2

Yes, I completely agree with Jerry. One new color that worked for me yesterday was a purple fleck/chart tube jig from Mid South Tackle. I caught nothing but Bass, Cats, Drum and Bream with the White/Chart jig but as soon as I tied on the purple/chart jig it was nothing but Crappie all day!

Jerry is right on but I would add black and pink in with those as well.

I have real good luck on 2" YUM beaver tails in a 1/8 ounce head.

Where can I find the Beaver Tails? Do they sell them at Academy?

Stucky,

The beaver tails work but the Rocky Tops will last much longer thumb
I'm not sure if Academy carries Yum but I'm sure Bass Pro does.
