It was good to meet some TFF's that I had never met. Thanks Mando for running the tournament and thanks to all who came out and fished today.
The fish were moving fast and scattered out today. The key was deep humps and ridges in the wind. We fought the white caps all day. Probably boated between 80-100 fish with about 25 being 12 inches or better. I didn't notice a thermocline yet and the fish we caught were mainly in 20-27 foot of water. Early we caught them on a ridge 12-15 ft but that did not last too long.
Hope to see all of you at the Lewisville tournament next month. It would be good to meet some of the Lewisville regulars.

Well, weird bite today on the Vine. We caught about 40 dinks (and I mean8 inchers). Thank goodness for one school of decent sized fish on the small ridge out in front of the red rocks at Murrell.

Here is the picture of my 10 year old with the biggest fish prize money. Eventhough the fishing stunk, coming in second, getting the biggest fish prize, and all the prize money (which he deserves for getting up at 4:45 this morning) has us both walking on cloud nine. We got on surfacing fish later in the morning that wouldnt bite (which has happened to me twice before on the Vine). A casting spoon or a cripple herring burned is about all they would bite. Thanks for putting the tourney together guys, smile below will tell you that Dillon says thanks as well!

Cool, I had not noticed... A former Longhorn and a future Aggie shaking hands and smiling.

As always I had a blast...

Now who is running Lewisville next month?

Great time and enjoyed meeting some of these familiar screen names. We were proud to be one of the third place teams. 9.5" all day but at least I won the consolation prize. Yeah, Don, I got the rod (See ya at the CAT meeting). Karma came back and paid me a visit after that jab I gave you last week. I and the rod will be back for the next one and I plan to pass it on.

Well you guys may have a tradition in the making, passing on the honorary consolation prize.

We all agreed to have tourneys for next year the 3rd Saturday of the month and not to allow hybrids in the sand bass aggregate on lake where hybrids exist but to allow hybrids to compete in the big fish pot.

you to Lance. Those 2 boys went home and slept for about 3 hours.

I was watching you on the north end by murrel park saturday catching 2 at a time. Was that a spec rig you were using?

Yankee, I was using a fly that I tied above my slab using a dropper loop.

I'm glad you got those boys some rest. I couldn't help but laugh as they were fishing with their eyes closed lying on the back deck of your boat. I remember my buddy and I doing the same thing with my grandpa in the hot summertime on the river. Good memories!
