I picked one up, thinking I would be happy with it. I've had issue with it already causing knots with 8lb diameter braid. Line is paying off the spool in loops with light weights and causing the line to jerk knots.


I haven't fished with it yet, and may not be keeping it if this doesn't work out. Has anyone had good luck with these reels? or can recommend a better model in the 80$ category?


It was disappointing to have trouble in the wind-less driveway on a casting plug, especially coming from a 30$ abu garcia that I had no trouble with. I don't have trouble paying for quality reels(I'm an avid avet fan), but this is ridiculous for a reel rated at 6-8# line to have this much trouble...
