taking the kids to Conroe for a week for vacation? any tips on where to catch some perch or catfish or bass? we will be staying in the Montgomery area.

i have a bass boat. i fish a lot just never conroe. i am in san antonio. am mainly interested in getting my kids on fish. catfish, perch, whatever. we are staying in the southern part of the lake so was planning on live worms/crickets (if i can find them)around the docks. are the blue gill still spawning?
