What rod do you use to cast 1/4oz crankbaits. The best brand, action and length of rod. Also the line weight and a good reel to cast these baits. Thanks for the info on this.

I use the 70ML (7ft rod Medium Light) made by Hendrix Rods and 12lb test and have recently switched to a H20 Reel(Manic) 6:2:1 gears

loomis cbr 783 with a calcutta 200 (ceramic bearings), 12 to 14lb Gamma line.

I use a Team All-Star Inshore 7'M Moderate action rod. It was intended for specs, but it makes an awesome cranking rod as well.

6' medium action St Croix I won from CABA. shimano mg50 with 12# Viscious flouro

For the smaller trap I like a Loomis MBR 782 (6'6'' medium) with 12 lb. fluoro.

For a bigger trap over grass I use a longer rod with braid.

Line depends on what I am throwing and depth I am trying to hit.

With the parabolic action that a glass rod give you any line can work depending on what you are wanting to do with the bait. I choose the Powell Glass rods because they are lighter than a lot of the other glass rods.
