There is nothing like being able to swing a 3 or 4 pound bass into the boat on the hookset. It doesn't matter how you find the pot of gold, all that matters is that you beat the leprachaun.

Braid only comes into play up here in a few situations. I'm surprised you let 3 or 4 pound bass into the boat and don't just shake them off. Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
