Let's say I'm the idiot that forgot to remove the plug in the boat after using it last three weeks ago. Would that affect my fiberglass boat at all? I just now removed it and there was still some water in it...

Never take mine out when you get to the ramp turn on the bilge pump it out and go home .No since to crawl under the boat .I really never understood all the gadgets on a boat now days we still dont have a remote handle to open and close the plug

Mine stays in. Never have water in the boat to worry about.

totally agree with other posts...no need to worry...and mostly with the statement that it will be way worse to forget to put plug in next time out. I am sure that more have done that one than wants to admit it.

I did it last year and didn't realize it for about 2 weeks andwe had a good bit of rain in that two weeks so the water was above the deck by the time I found it.

It's happened to me before. We had a huge storm system come through before I realized it. My battery boxes were within an inch of my batteries being underwater and my half full plastic gas tank was floating around. Bilged it out and took it to the lake!
