Not expecting miracles but the prop on my 46# motorguide trolling motor is pretty beat up and due for a replacement. I tried one of those weedless props on it but it seems to give alot less thrust than the standard prop. Any suggestions for a prop that gives equal or more thrust than the original and is long lasting? Maybe go for a 3 or 4 blade replacement prop?

thanks guys and i would have thought going to a 3 or 4 blade prop would boost the thrust but don't know that for a fact. I'll have to search for that chipawa and see what they say about it. Any other suggestions? Maybe an aftermarket 2 blade that is a bit tougher than the motorguide props. I tend to beat mine up around the shallow brush and so tougher is better. Before someone says it, I know I should avoid driving thru brush but hey I only get so many trips to the lake so want to take full advantage and can't steer around every twig I see

I found them and they sound like a good option. A little more expensive than plastic but as you said they are suppost to be alot stronger and they had a ton of positive testimonials.
I also found some aluminium props for my trolly that say they provide more thrust and come with a lifetime breakage warranty. Cost around 50 bucks which seems fair if they really do what they say. Anyone use the aluminum props or know of other good aftermarket props?

I haven't used one but, I would look real hard at the warrenty for the aluminum props. Make sure that the warrenty is not for just factory defects and that it will be covered if you hit a stump and bend or break it.

Motorguide makes a machette prop thats aluminum and is supposed to add 10 -15 #of thrust. plus you cant tear it up...at least mine has lasted 6-7 years and still going strong
