If you want to catch some large grass carp - go to Lake Conroe (however, I think it's illegal to actually harvest them). The white amur have denuded the lake of all vegetation (mainly hydrilla) and they're now slamming catfish bait due to extreme hunger.

this pond i go to is about 15 minutes from my house compared to several hours to conroe.....
think i will go to that pond

Fishlady nice fish. What did you catch it on?
My96z that is a fine sized white amur...I wonder if it is sick, or just not enough vegetation for it there? What a shame. If it was fattened up it would be one heck of a catch.
