Fish were biting good right before the storm had 21 keepers got off the water

One of my minnow condos filled the tube with range cubes and cut slots in the sides put it out and waited 3 days and caught 7 fish minnows were all over the condo .I wanted it for my fall fishing so I sank it in 17ft of water .To get some good fish had to probe the timber in at least 27ft of water and the bite was light .The bigger the tree increased the odds .Had to move move constantly.Everyday was bad windy crazy year

I thought I would sneak away this morning (sat) and do a little crappie fishing before the grand kids got back from fishing "Kids Fish Day" down at "Fishermans Point" But, my 'Ol Dependable Yammy' 4 stroke outboard just got me out (about a 100 ft) in the lake and died!

I guess the crappie are gonna have to wait till I get the motor fixed.

Thanks gregd they sure made me work for the bites I got .Im really glad that the small fish moved somewhere else last week it was about every fifth fish was a keeper this week some really health fish they look like the thick fall fish we all love to catch .

Man, sorry to hear that your motor quit! That really sucks! Fortunately you have two boats and can still get out amongst them. If push comes to shove you can use my boat so you can catch a few fish.

The boat motor is a small issue and will be resolved, and yes, the other boat needs to be run a little bit more than it is.

You enjoy your vacation, and then get on back here, the fishing is starting to get good. Whites and Hybrids are starting to show up on the point, The Crappie has been pretty good too and should get better as summer moves on.

dwmoore, wow! 27ft that is deep. I guess I need to try some of my deeper brush piles and the timber along the creekbed, those fish you have are good size , I glade to here that you weren't bothered by the smaller crappie as much. That's good news... Good Luck and keep us posted.
