Easy way to distinguish a Kentucky Spotted Bass is by checking for a patch of "teeth" (gristle) on top of his tongue.

Looks like one. As al seaver said, looks for a toothy patch on the tongue, very rough.

Yep nice one. All you have to remember is to check for the jawline to extend past the eye to distinguish between lmb and spot

Looks like the few that I've caught. Dad & I caught a few of them up in central OK a few years back and when I checked my pictures it looks identical to what people were calling Kentucky Spots up there.
