Hope to see you there Bob hopefully I won't have to work. I went last sunday and managed several nice whiting. There was some nice green water off the t-head and several large schools of mullet swimming around. I saw some redfish under them but they were not interested in my bait. Also saw a bad wreck going back over the causeway. I really don't like driving over it. No emergency lanes and those wavy retainer walls make me want to puke.

not sure if any of you know or not, but a baby was killed in this wreck. sad! pray for the baby and its family. as for fishing, the bayou just off 61st has been hot. wensday, i picked up 5 redfish in the 18 to 20in range and thursday i got 6 in the same range all on silver spoons. 1 went 23in. all on the incoming tide or just as the high tide ends.

The main prob on the causeway is TOO MANY DUMB___ speeding . The speed limit is 50 MPH , not 65 not 75 not 90 . No shoulder hurts too . Fished friday night !!! Windy as heck . Forecast said 12-15 , but was 18-22 .Water sandy . Saw a few specks caught . I managed 4 keeper drum ( caught 9 ) also caught a few small whiting that I cut up and used for bait hoping for a slot red. Fishing was slow so after 5 hours headed home .

fished the bayou today just off 61st and got 2 keeper redfish and 3 more just under 20in so they were returned to fight another day. also got 1 22in trout and 1 throwback trout. finger mullet was the bait. had fun. beachfront today was NASTY!

bobtx, i was asking where did you fish friday night from your report above? went out this morning,sunday and nothing, but the kid next door got his first fish ever and it was a gafftop at about 5 lbs. man, the look on his face. what ever made it better was he was using super light tackle fishing for piggys. i would say hes about 10 or 12 years old. he told me after we landed the gafftop, that now he likes fishing. he likes the suprise when you hook something, you never know what your going to catch. kids??????

Yup when my daughter was that age she loved to fish for white amour carp in Lake Conroe and she held the lake record for 5 months with a 43 lbs carp . I love to watch young kids fish . I sometimes take my neighbors 2 teens with me and show them how to catch fish . I let them use zebco 808sw and have seen them catch keeper reds up to 8 lbs and one time a 33 lb black drum . If more people took kids fishing I believe we would have less drug addicts. I almost always fish on the Galveston Fishing Pier unless seaweed or a storm is in the gulf . I may be there next Friday but it is the 4th of July and then I may not . Depends on how bad the IDIOTS are out driving around

Went to 91st Galveston Fishing Pier and caught 3 nice shark..here's acouple. It was great day yesterday!

Tuesday 8/08 not much going on the pier . Winds 12- 17 water sandy , catches sand trout , rays , gafttop , whiting and a few sharks .

Did you all hear about the advisory on gafftop and specks? Sounds scary and pretty much a catch and release situation. Here is the link
