I just noticed a stress crack on the starboard bow of my Champion. It is Y shaped and about 10" long. The glass shop I use is closed for vacation and I'll be on a list when they reopen.

Can I stop this thing from spreading or should I just keep it in the garage until I can get it in the shop?

Is it a gelcoat crack or a deeper crack in the 'glass? I would talk to Michael at North Texas Fiberglass, he is a straight shooter.

I'm in desperate search of a rebuildable lower unit or lower unit case for my 1990 Johnson 175 HP V6. I'm in Burkburnett, Tx., just north of Wichita Falls, Tx. Thanx.

Dayne,

Call me.. We ran into issues with hull cracking on some of the Champion models out there. So call me and I'll see what we can do or point you in the correct direction. I'm going through this right now with another customer's boat. Each time we repair an area, the cracks move further forward. So it is more than likely a structural issue on your boat.
