I have used Pond Creek, Jorden park, Sanger Access and the ramp on the north bridge but I can't remember the name in the last 2 months. The restrooms at these ramps are nasty, they stink, doors falling off, overfull trash in dumpsters, where is the park money spent on the main park and they overlook these parks. I would hate to send one of my kids in there to use the restroom. These were nice ramps a few years ago just shows what lack of maintence will do.

You might address this to the Texas parks and wildlife to see what kind of an answer you get. It does seem strange to me that the State parks and wildlife would build something and then not keep enough money on hand to keep up with repairs as everyone knows they all will be needing some kind of repairs from time to time.

There is no money. The state isn't sending enough money to TP&W to keep all the parks in good shape. We've been lucky. Our parks here are a lot better than some of the others around the state.

I agree Adam. I have seen a lot worse, but ours is going downhill. Just like the dock at Isle du Bois. They will never fix that thing.

I try to believe they do the best they can with what they get. I was talking to a ranger the other day at Joe Pool/Cedar Hill about the projects they have done out there. He was saying that those were bugeted for 3 years ago. There is just not much extra money to take care of stuff that hasn't been planned for well in advance. I think one of these days you'll see some repairs and maintenance, but it might get worse before it gets fixed.

When fees/taxes/licenses earmarked for the great outdoors are transferred to the general fund the result will be neglect. Sadly, this happens all the time and not just Tx.

In addition to contacting TP&W, let your local state reps know how you feel.

Last year's flooding also hurt the parks. The fees they normally generated were way down during the months the ramps/parks were closed. Not much anyone can do about that loss of revenue.

I was under the impression that most of these ramp areas were overseen by the Corp of Engineers? When we go, I give my money to my buddy and he fills out the payment form and puts it in the box so I cant remember if it says Corp on it or TPWD. But whoever is getting the money is not using it to keep the places clean.

What happen to the wave breakers at the Isle du Bois ramp?
That ramp faces south and most of the year it gets pounded by wind and waves.

I talked to park ranger about wave breakers at the Isle du Bois ramp he said they would not repair and to use other ramps protected from the south wind. That make a good ramp useless under hard south wind.
