You should have tried slabbing them. I am guessing if you saw them they were deeper haning on structure.

You are right about the pleasure boaters. They are cool, it's those damn water skiers!!!! I seen one guy doing flips near some guys fishing early in the morning.

Futureman, I think it might be your lures. I fished the dam a couple times this week and the fish are there. I'd suggest one of you try a white 1/2 ounce slab and the other try a pair of sassy shad jigs about 18" apart. One of those two setups will always catch at least a few for us. If you fish them shallow, you will get some nice blacks on the shad too. Fish the slab deeper and you will get sandies. Have to be willing to vary the depth a bit to see where they seem to be hitting. Start off trying 12-15 feet and go from there. Here is a shot of the biggest one my son caught just yesterday at the dam.

Pic of the white bass says 2/14/2005 4:13am. Was this supposed to be a recent catch?

Does anyone try live shad? And if so where are some good spots to catch them?

The idiots can make it difficult. I won't go out there on a weekend but I sometimes go after work for the evening fishing. There are normally fewer idiots on the lake at that time but still a few.

I tie on a spoon or rattle trap on my LMB rig just in case the idiots decide to ski too close to me fishing. I can't help if they accidentally get a stray hook. I'm just fishing, ya know?
