Took my 6 year old son out with me today. This was his first trip on the boat to fish. He has fished local ponds with me since he could hold a pole though. We didn't do great but managed about 15 crappie, about 3hrs of fishing and 1hr swimming (it was HOT with basically no wind). He fished minnows and I fished SlabMeSilly Jigs. I worked with him more than anything, so we might of caught more, but it was a blast seeing his face light up with every thump, LOL. I bet there was 30 trucks/trailers at Pond Creek Access today. Here's a couple of pics of him watching and feeling and then the reward of a keeper, that Fish Taco is real handy.

Great job Chiz! He looks like he had a great time. Always a joy to see a kid reeling in fish!

Way to go Chiz. Thats great taking that young man fishing. Nothing like the feeling you get seeing the smile on a childs face fishing.

Congrat. Chiz...
Great photos ...and that is one good camera you got there!!! I noticed your kiddo is left handed which can lead to being an extraordinaire!!! Watch out, he might soon give you a good wooping on the art of crappie fishing... hahahha
Absolutely awsome to see one happy kiddo!!!
Good luck and touch base...
Thanks...

looks like you all had a great day
Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach
