I got to meet and fish with Drawout off TFF this morning. We ended up with 30 keepers out of around 70 crappie caught. We fished both brush piles and tember, catching fish from both places. I was finly able to find one of my favorite tree's this morning that has been to far under water to see. We caught some nice size crappie off it along with a 2.2 lber. Thanks again Drawout for a great morning. Cliff

Hey Anthony it would mainly depend on what lake your fishing. Bridges are normally good in the summer months on most lakes. Timbers can produce good fish if your fishing the right areas and depths. Don't give up on the area you was fishing. Some days the fish just don't bite as well as others and with a nearly full moon that is often the case. It has been off and on one day to the next. Sometimes it is just a matter of finding the fish that are feeding.

Nice catch Cliff!!! We fished corp piles on the east side and a few spots on the west Saturday morning. Caught lots of fish that would have been legal legth in about a week or so!!..only 7 that hit the grease..The bite seemed real light so maybe there is something to that moon phase stuff,or maybe the secret is you need to be in Cliffs' boat. Thanks for the report. Glad you finally found that tree!!

That is where I caught that 3.1 a few years ago just maybe another one like that will show up, but I will take 2.2 lbers any day. Now if i can find the other 3 trees I have been looking for . Not to try to make you home sick but the green fish are starting to check into the motels . Talk to you later.

thanks anthony That is the case a lot of the time. You will find that a lot of the time during the full moon the mid day bite is best. That wasn't the case for us today but we may have found some fish that missed their mid night snack .

We caught about 25 yesterday...lots of throwbacks so we only had 11 keepers.

Today was busy on the lake(RR) and rough with all the boat traffic (most I've ever seen on the lake during the weekend) and couldn't find a brushpile that wasn't already being fished or fished over for our lives in 8 hours.
Sun was tough today too, but stated all this junk in another thread. We gave it hell for 8 hours on about 4 piles and a few trees and manaaged about 4 keepers, 5-6 snapped lines, a few sandies, and about 10 or so throwbacks. Summertime is definitely better during the week more than anytime of the year. We had fun though.

Great catch Cliff! I got an answer to the bridge fishing at JP. Too many people fish those bridges at that lake, the keeper to throwback ratio is about 15 to 1 during the summer it doesn't have anything to do with the moon. There are people fishing them all day and night. GoodLuck CrappieMaster

Some times I catch a decent number of fish on FULL MOON trips but rarely. Usually the bite is soft and slow.
Of course I always fish at night this time of year. I may have to try the midday thing on full moon trips!
