went out to grapevine this morning to see what was biting. Tried bubbles at dam and caught several small sandies and a few black bass plus a couple catfish. Nothing or any real size though so we moved on to twin coves area. Didn't get anything there so after a while, moved back to the rip rap at the dam. Fish were hitting pretty good. Here is a shot of the largest one caught by my teenage son. No scale to weight it but guess it would go 5 pounds or so. Released it but was encouraging to see some big bass coming out of Grapevine.

Nice catch , for a green trash fish. I think the slot limits are starting to pay off for the LMB's. Tell your son congratulations.

Nice Bass! What did you get him on? I haven't fished the Dam yet this year...Also, what is the depth you were fishing?

thanks, he caught him on a shad working the rip rap around 10 feet depth. We caught several smaller blacks too and left them biting because it was lunch time and we were both starving. Ended up the day with about a dozen bass, some small sandies and a couple of catfish. A great morning on the water.
