will the carbs from a 1981 johnson 115 hp outboard fit and work on a 1978 johnson 115 hp outboard ,i would appreciate it if anyone had any info on this or could point me in the direction of anyone that would know. thanks ,,,jim

www.shop.evinrude.comclick on "Electronic Parts Catalogue" drill down to those two motors & compare part numbers. the '78 has choke plates but the '81 I believe has the primer system. And they may specify different orfices. But that won't necessarily rule it out though - if the casting is the same.
