Each June my dad and I go fishing with the same group of guys, our customers, in north west Ontario, Canada. This area is designated by Ontario as "Trophy Waters." In order for a capture to qualify as a trophy it must measure equal to or greater than the following lengths; Walleye - 27" Pike - 38" Smallmouth Bass - 18" This year I was fortunate enough to capture 2 trophy fish and one slightly rare capture for these waters. My 39"/17 lb pike. Although it may not be considered a giant by some European standards, according to the government of Ontario, it was one inch longer than it needed to be for a trophy designation. My 19" smallmouth bass; This is a special capture for me only because it is somewhat of a rare catch in these waters. In fact, not one local guide could even tell me for certain what it was. I had to look it up when I returned home. My lake whitefish, member of the trout/salmon family; Some landscape photos; The Northland Marauders I love fishing up north! I cannot wait for my 2nd annual return trip to Rainy Lake on the Minnesota/Canada border next month. Last year I captured several smallmouth bass over 18 and 19" but it was my wife who captured the real monster at 20.5" This year I intend to have the bragging rights.

Jason,
Until I saw the above pic of you & your pike,I had no idea that you are really one of Santa's elves! If you honestly intend to keep it a secret, you've gotta start tucking those pointy ears under your hat before you allow pictures.
Congratulations & Good Fishin', LlindeX
