Let's see if I can post a picture. This is the 5th Eastern Rat snake I've caught in my henhouse in the past 4 weeks. This one is a juvenile. One I caught was much smaller. The big one was around 7 feet long, 3-4 inches in diameter and weighed 30 lbs. (5 or 6 lbs of my eggs). I don't kill them, wrap em up in an old pillowcase and drop them off near the river on the way to work.

yep, i get those dudes all the time in my coop too! cool snakes and i also release them when i can (somewhere far, far away! )
