Thanks,
I just bought this boat about 3 months ago. It had one heck of a hole shot (till I idled over a stump in brownwood) but the top end is only about 52-55 @ 5,000rpm (gps) is there a better prop for good hole shot and top end. I have a 98 cobra 19'.

the 22p Raker is one of the best props for that boat. your sligtly "underpowered"
another option is a 23p Tempest.

sometimes with your combo, a 4 blade 23p renegade may be the best for ya. good all around prop for holeshot and topend.

Pulled the prop and it appears to be o.k. This is my first bass boat. Is there something else that may cause it to "spin out" as it starts to plane on the initial take off? I can feather it out before the spin and still get maxed out. Maybe sucking air?????

sounds like your prop is blowing out, once your start getting on plane.

When your taking off, are trimming up the motor at the same time, if so you may be trimming it up to fast, might try to give the boat time to get up and then trim up.

I don't start trimming till it's on top. You're right though. I tried trimming while it was jumping up to see if that was the problem but it only made it worse.
