I'm trying to get set up for some trolling action and I need some ideas please. So, let's hear about some of the set ups you guys use (pics would be good too). I'm thinking something like this, but it's purty pricey.

I made one using 1/2" conduit for the upright and C channel for the T-bar. 4 rod holders mounted on top, plus 2 holders on the boat gunnels.

I use two Driftmaster rod holders clamped to the handrails. (Skeeter boat) They work great for me. I don't troll much and when I do it's usually the deadly Hell Pet in summer.

Thanks guys, the reason I'm asking is because I plan on hybrid fishing on Proctor pretty soon and I was just trying to get ready. 10-15 years ago we used to tear em up trolling. That's about the only way I know to catch em, unless of course they are boiling the water on top, LOL. Anyway, thanks for the replies.

Well it seems that trolling is not very popular anymore, sounds like I need to get some slabs and spoons. Any recommendations on those?

That setup will work. You have the ideal spread the rods. Troll some deep some shallow. Are you putting it on a bass boat? As for lures use a rattle trap or hell-pet setup or a hell bender with either a 3" chartous or pearl grub on it. The whites and hybrids on proctor will tear it up. It ben a while since I fish proctor, but when I was in college I fished it once a weeks and great sucess, especailly in the summer on top water early in the morning. Good luck, let us know how you do.

I have basically one trolling set up and that is the hell/pet which I have not happily had to use yet this year. On my lake most of the fish we are after are in 15-20 and I can hit bottom easily with a hell/pet rig, or I can modify it some with sassy shad or a flies by night behind it or even troll a DD-22 which works fairly well also.

I have one of the fold n trolls, and it is a great rig for a bass boat. Goes on is a few seconds and fits under the deck real easy. If you want to troll but not bunch holes in the boat it is a great solution.

You could also look into using planer boards. They will spread out your lines to cover more water and less chance of tangeled lines. I've never really done any trolling but thought about using some of these if I try.
